Pasco is an Ideal Location for Landscaping

Many people in the Tri-Cities might be surprised to know that Pasco is an ideal location for landscaping.  This is because the ground in Pasco contains 95% sand making excavation easy and provides for excellent drainage.   Sand provides great back-fill behind short retaining walls that are under three feet tall provided a weed fabric is used to prevent the sand from bleeding out through the wall.   It also makes installing sprinkler systems much easier than some of the rocky locations in Kennewick.   Some of the best looking lawns in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla have there roots in sand rather than top soil like most people would expect.  Basin Sod located in North Pasco has a large sod farm on sandy ground growing some of the nicest looking sod I’ve seen.
